Stephen joins forces with Dave Matthews
Marley to support DMB on summer tour
By Doug Miller / BobMarley.com
Stephen Marley's new album, Mind Control proves that he's one of the most versatile and creative artists today.

So it's fitting that he'll join another musical adventurer, Dave Matthews, when the Dave Matthews Band heads out for its annual stadium-packing summer tour as they ramp up to the release of a seventh studio album, expected to be out by the end of the year.

Stephen's debut solo album showcases the multi-instrumentalist's ability to fuse traditional reggae with contemporary hip-hop, dancehall and ska, while Matthews has always woven reggae influences and elements into his potent mix of world-beat and jazz-tinged rock jams.

Stephen will hook up with the DMB toward the end of the tour, starting Tues., Sept. 25, at the Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix. Stephen and his band will continue as support as the tour winds its way through Irvine, Calif. (Wed., Sept. 26), Chula Vista, Calif. (Fri., Sept. 28) and Mountain View, Calif. (Sat., Sept. 29).

The two bands will close out Matthews' tour with a two-night stand at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Mon., Oct. 1, and Tues., Oct. 2.
